I was very kindly invited to a preview night of Aberdeen’s new bowling alley – Lane7. Me and my friends had a great time and I thought I’d share a bit about our night!
I’d heard it was going to be a bit more than your average bowling alley so I didn’t know what to expect. However – we were not disappointed!
The venue itself is located right in the centre of town with a cinema right next door and bars and restaurants surrounding. I think this is a perfect location for people wanting to go out into town but not actually go “out-out”.
Inside there are 6 bowling alleys, a bar, snooker tables, table tennis and an arcade area. It’s not a huge venue but I think it’s great that the activities are not too isolated from each other.
When we arrived, we got our drink from the bar and then got our shoes ready to start bowling. Our first game was cut short due to technical difficulties but the staff were so friendly and it wasn’t long until our game got going again. While we were waiting we had a go at table tennis while dancing along to some 80s music – the perfect combo!
Even though everyone’s bowling together, you still feel like you have your own private space to have fun which is great. I specifically liked the animations that came up on the screen at the despair of my team’s bowling efforts. Also, little side-note, I don’t think I’ve ever worn a cleaner pair of bowling shoes!
Another side note: there are actual placements on the floor to create the bowling shoe pic – great addition in my opinion!
All in all, we had a fantastic time – staff were friendly, music was great, and the overall bowling was a winner too! Would definitely recommend having a little browse on their website (linked above) and get yourself booked in for a game of bowling!
Thanks for reading,
I was very kindly invited to the preview night for a free game of bowling but all opinions expressed are my own.
